How to play
Strategy guideMain mode: Creeping Death

Enter solo. Win together.

A quick Creeping Death playbook: choose a role, help your team win rounds and build your own score.

Round wins pay everyone.

On the winning team, everyone connected at round start earns the same round reward—even if they died. Support helps you keep pace; kills and enabled assist rewards help you build an individual lead.

Choose your role

Choose for your skill in this match. Check your teammates and adapt your role after a team change.

Stronger players

Open & lead

Create openings your team can follow.

  • Ask for a flash, then take first contact with a teammate ready to trade.
  • After an opening kill, regroup and secure the objective.
  • Give one simple call: where to go, what to cover or when to push.

Average players

Trade & connect

Turn team fights into your own scoring chances.

  • Follow close enough to trade: fight the opponent immediately after they kill your teammate.
  • Watch a different angle and use your teammate’s information to prepare your aim.
  • Once ahead, stay together and protect the plant or defuse instead of chasing kills.

Less experienced players

Support & secure

Make fights easier and help finish the round.

  • Use a smoke or flash to help a teammate; call where opponents are.
  • Stay near the action and hold one angle from cover. Look for supported kills.
  • Help plant, protect or defuse the bomb when safe. Hiding far away leaves your team short.

Beating a higher-rated opponent earns more points. Assists score only when enabled and credited by CS2; utility alone does not guarantee points.

Stay ahead of the cut

  • Scheduled cuts remove the lowest scores in each match. Deaths cost no points; sitting out lets others pull ahead.
  • Between rounds, check your score, the next cut and the lowest scores in your current match.
  • Build a cushion: scores can change before the deciding round ends, and ties are not safe.

Alternative mode

Go for Broke: adapt your strategy

The same team roles apply, but each death can undo your progress. Deaths and round costs reduce your points; zero or fewer after the round settles means elimination. Build your score while keeping a buffer for upcoming rounds.

Stronger players

Protect your advantage

Take first contact with a flash and a trade partner. After gaining an advantage, regroup or fall back. Avoid repeat peeks: losing a duel to a lower-rated opponent can be especially costly.

Average players

Trade, then reset

Trade from cover instead of taking repeated solo duels. Your trade earns you points, but it does not refund your teammate’s death. Use utility and coordinated peeks to win fights with fewer losses.

Less experienced players

Stay useful from cover

Help with utility and calls from protected positions. Avoid unsupported entries you are not ready for. Round wins can rebuild your points even with few kills; hiding through losses still drains them.

For every skill level

Watch your buffer

Check the current and upcoming round costs, and build a buffer before they rise. A very low balance can limit kill rewards. When running low, look for supported scoring chances and round wins instead of desperate solo pushes.
